If you are looking over your windshield all the time, what is keeping the bugs and rocks from hitting your eyes? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a "windshield?"

There is a certain amount of air buffer created above the shield where you are still safe. Recurves create more of a buffer but I wasn't sure if that would have been enough of a buffer to keep the majority of stuff off my face in addition to the wind. I'll still wear shatter resistant glasses just in case something gets by like I do behind my full windshield now.
