98 heritage was custom built. had had shop to wire it for controls. have 05 heritage controls .start button went out. bought new one comes with kill switch. cut wires to connect new ones .dumb me didn't mark wires. 3 are same color. does the hot go to run then to a relay then back to start button? not good @ reading wiring diagrams. any help here ? Thanks in advance

See attached. If you notice I cut and moved white/black wire off the junction for both switches and moved it from the start switch to the run/kill switch on the load side. The reason I did that is because the way they had it wired you could hit the start button any time and the starter would turn the motor over. However it wouldn't start the motor unless the run/kill was in run to supply power to the coil. Hope it make sense.
