Kickstand wedge

I have lowered my Road King and now need to lower the jiffy stand or try using a wedge. I see them advertised mostly for soft tails but many say that they will work on touring bikes. Has anyone use a wedge on a touring bike and how well did it work? A wedge is cheaper than a new stand and if it works I will go that route but I don't know anyone who has ever used one.
Any help for a new harley rider will be appreciated.

A friend of mine has one on his lowered Electra Glide, and it seems to work well.
For the price, it's worth a try.
