I think I Over Did It

I got the set of ISO grips and figured a perfect time to lube my cables. I did the bag method.
Then I noticed I had what I thought was grease on my left hand and started looking for the source. I pulled the clutch lever in and there was really black oil all around by the barrel that holds the cable. I have been cleaning it now every day with a paper towel, it seems to be drying up, but will it ever? I never got so much oil down the cable before that it would do that. The black must be the previous oil from cable or sheath.

I have been using talcum powerder on my grips lately, I haven't got any oil on mine but after riding the palms of my hands are black. The talcum seems to be working and also my hands aren't sweating on the grips. May work to absorb the oil.
