I built one a week ago and it works great. Key is to make sure you countersink that flange orbit won't roll right

I saw this awhile ago and looks like a good plan. I have one suggestion-On the end of the pipe threat a 45*street EL and about a 4 or 5" nipple to keep your hand from being pinched under the pipe. Does that make sense?

It's not necessary. When in use, the handle doesn't touch the ground and you have plenty of finger and knuckle clearance. I've made two of them, using 2 2x8s glued and screwed. They work great.
