High Tempture Powder coating

I was told by a local bike shop owner that he has been sending exhaust pipes to a powder coating company to be black powder coated and it will not burn off or change colors. He said that it's not as tough as ceramic coating but is 1/2 the price and he has had a 100% good report form the bikers he's had it done for. (over 20 sets)
Is this even close to being a good thing (powder coating pipes) or should I just go with black ceramic? I have a set of Cycle Shack slip-ons that I want to be black instead of chrome.

I've heard of the high temp powder coating but never have seen any. I would say that if you are going to do the pipes in black, go with the ceramic coating.
