Help - Shifter not centering

I have '05 Super Glide. On my last ride I noticed that the shift lever won't center or "spring back". I have dealer installed forward controls and have disconnected the rod that connects to the foot pedal and the pedal moves freely. Anyone have any suggestions?

Happened to me on my 07 FatBoy found the linkage ( Heim joints ) corroded up. Pulled the rod and worked them free and no more issue.

More than likely the shifter shaft needs to be greased.

This will give you an idea what I am referring to.

Thanks..it appears it was the Heim joint. Was fearing the worst like a broken spring inside trany. First time using this forum and guys like you make it work...thanks again.
