hey all, my buddy (who is not the pc type asked me to post this question)
i looked in self help and tech under "gear shift seals" but got 0 hits
he has a 2000 wide glide, 15,000 miles
and recently noticed a seal leak where the gear shift link ties back to the trans. he took no chances and had to towed to a nearby shop and they told him one of the seals was weeping and needs to be replaced. he elected to do all the seals that are used by the shifting but
this forum is great and thanks for the help

- should he do all three (i think there are 3)
- what causes the seal to weep - he recently swithced to synthetis and blames the looser oil
- what can we do to prevent it in the future - i have a 98 Low Rider and have run on synthetic for several years - should i be worried
