I just changed out my clutch cable and with that my oil filter and all the fixings. Now I get a check engine light that comes on and goes off constantly. What could be the problem and can I fix it?

Here's all the info you need to pull a code out of your 01 dyna lowrider.

If it goes on but doesn't stay on, it's a historic code (something that happened in the past) If it stays on while riding, it's something setting a code that is still present.

Did you disconnect the battery at all?

If it is a historic code, it will reset itself after 50 start & run cycles of at least 30 seconds each.

If you give more specifics on the bike it will make it easier to diagnose a problem in the future.

Disconnected the battery and reconnected. Turned ignition on and had check engine light, it than went out. Started engine and it came back on for about two seconds. Went for a test ride for about six miles and the light never came on. Thanks for all your help. I'll let you know what the outcome is after 50 starts.
