When a worn tyre is replaced the wheel will feel much better on the road as when the tyre wears it tends to get a flat area across the middle part of the tread so when you have a new tyre with a good rounded profile itll glide over the road imperfections rather than catch on them
if you change to a different tyre you will assume that its a much better tyre youll only really know once it is worn

If you do change brand of tires, I would do both front & rear together, It's not healthy to mismatch tires.

Really ? I would not have thought it mattered if you ran two diff brands. Even though both are the same brand now, they are diff sizes and tread patterns anyhow.
