Fork Seal Replacement

Here's a link to a fork seal replacement that will show you how to do it if you feel you want to tackle it yourself. Use it just as a guide to the dis-assembly of the forks.
On some newer bikes, you'll find a small indentation at the back of the slider cover that is used to remove the upper cover (cow bell). Others have the same attachment as the older bikes with the bolts up inside the cow bells.

Pay attention to the old seal that you are taking out for the proper installation of the new seal to make sure you install it proper side down.

Always support the brake calipers when removing the fork legs and don't let them hang by the brake lines.

Once you remove the clip holding the seal in the slider top and the 6MM bolt in the bottom of the slider, a few brisk tugs like a slide hammer will remove the seal from the lower leg and the leg comes off.
