Animal, back prior to 1970-71 all the Harley big bikes (dressers) were FL or FLH, (74CI) only a few things like chrome stuff made the differents. Then AMF/HD come out with the Super Glides FX/FXE (also 74CI). They had smaller rear fenders,forks and narrow front tire a few other things. The Dyna of today is based off of this model, such as the FX Soft Tail Custom. Today FL's still have the fat front tires and then some extra toys.
