FLHTC Charging System

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1991 FLHTC, can a single phase stator and components be upgraded to a three phase system ? If so other than the stator and regulator what else would have to be upgraded. Thanks for your input !

As long as you can physically mount it all, a Stator, Rotor and Regulator is all you would need to convert a single to 3 phase. Include a new matching rotor for the stator you choose. This way the air gap, magnet strength and number of magnets will be correct.

High current output even at idle speeds is the big plus of 3 phase. Good Luck!

If you just want to upgrade your charging system, you can install the 32 Amp, high-output alternator kit HD # 29985-87 (MSRP $239.95). If you want to change over to 3 phase, check with Cycle Electric - They can tell you if it can be done and the correct parts to do it with.
