I used a spare charged battery, it wasn't fitted to any other vehicle. The battery in the bike was so flat, even the lights wouldn't come on. My fault, because I tried to start it many times but forgot to turn the fuel tap to 'open', otherwise it would have probably started.
I always keep a spare charged battery, but on this occasion, rather than spending a long time taking the flat one out (which is only a year old), I tendered the charged one to it, started the bike and immediately removed the leads.
