exhaust modification

My buddy has an '07 softail custom and has removed the baffles from the exhaust using a dremel tool. It sounds much better, but I was wondering if doing that without a re-map would cause any issues such as running too lean? I was considering doing it also but wanted to see if there were any issues to be concerned about first. Any advice out there?

If your running a fuel injected bike, it will decrease your low end torque. Generally when you open the baffles you end up changing to slipons later when you realize the sound just isn't what you thought it was.
