Engine diagnostic light does not always come on when you first turn on ignition

I agree with Glider the dealer should have set the security upon delivery they should of asked you for a 5 digit pin # to set your fobs and security.

I have the smart security system on my 2010 FXDC and the dealership set it up with me when I picked up the bike. It is a little complicated when you set it up for the first time and the tech went through the whole process. The 5 digit pin is for use in case you lose the FOB or the battery on the FOB dies......you can still start and run your bike. I like the smart security system.......95% of the time I just shut down my bike and walk away. IF the FOB is not near the bike it will not start.....and if I do lose my FOB I know how to get the bike running.
