I hear the newer gas lines in cages and bikes are more alcohol resistant, not sure but that's what I heard. I used to not be that religious with stabil on every fillup. Then on my old chain saw (bought in 2004) I had to put new gas lines in it twice. And I even dumped any old gas out when I put it away after being done with it.
The last time is was so bad when I went to replace the line it disintegrated into small pieces. Was a mess, had to buy a carb rebuild kit and redo the whole carb. The guy at the lawnmower parts house said he don't have any fuel lines that will last long with ethanol.
I now use one type or another of stabil all the time, in everthing even our cages.
