dash help

I have a 95 flstc I was going to put a vibration dampner on the speedo so I get the nut off and I cant get the dash off because the trip reset wont let it does anyone know how to get the knob off so you can take off the dash

There is a screw inside the trip meter. If I remember correctly it comes with a flat head or phillips head screw, changed mine out for a allen head.

And it is a pesky little screw that is not easy to get back in

Thanks Guys I found it was full of stuff and that it is rusted in cant get it and didnt want to drill or break it thanks

Sooner or later you will have to get it out even if it's just to change a bulb. J&P has a replacement knob an screw pretty cheap.
