crank seal leak

I have a 2004 road king with 45,000 miles on it.I recently noticed oil leaking from around the stator plug.I also noticed that me engine oil level was getting lower.So,when I went to check my primary and removed the derby cover,oil poured out.That leads me to believe that engine oil is leaking into my primary case.My question is: is this a common occurence,what could cause it,and is it an easy (somewhat)fix? Not a very common occurrence but it does happen. It will require removal of the primary cover and chain/ stator unit to replace the seal that is causing the migration.

I have the same problem at my 1989 electra glide with rebuild engine.I have changed the oil seal with no results.
I heard it is a tip, how to put the spacer which is behind the oil seal in the right position,if you don't know the exact position the problem will remain.
I'm waiting for the tip.
