Have a 2007 sporster how do you remove clutch cable on hand grip

Usually you would collapse the cable adjuster, then remove the "C" clip on the bottom of the pin that the handle pivots on, then lift the cable through the slot in the perch and remove the cable and handle together.

A service manual would give you the info too.:s

Crazy Dave; yes, $pend the $$$ on the $ervice manual - it will $ave $$$ in the long-end & it has pics too which makes wrenching easier. Cheers!

Have a 2007 sporster how do you remove clutch cable on hand grip

Glider covered it, but a word on the clip. It's an outside clip with tiny holes for snap ring pliers to expand it for removal. These clips are trained to fly off and disappear. I took my pin to the auto parts store and bought a few "c"clips of the proper size. These can be pushed on and off without special pliers. Kinda cheap too, so get extras.

I find on the smaller "C" clips like this one if you use two small punches or pics that you can use the hole to keep the clip from "disappearing" by holding it down using the hole if you don't have the pliers for the job.
