Clutch cable nut.

Is the nut where the cable goes through the primary cover supposed to be tight? Mine is not. I was chasing a slight oil drip, and noticed that it wasn't. I wanted to ask before I tightened it. It's a 2001 sportster.

yes. good-n-snug, don't reef it.

there is a o-ring between. maybe the cause of your slight oil leak also.
