I'm 5'9 and the 9.5" is perfect for me. Line of sight is about 2" above the shield. You will love their shields.

I'm 5'9 and I went with the 8" because I didn't really want one that was too high or radically changed the look on my SG. It seems to work very well and I'm very happy with it. Taller will block more wind but I wanted to stay a little more with the shorter look but with much more function than the stock 4".
