What I'm not 100% clear about is --

Does Lemon or Orange Pledge make a difference?

I've always used Pledge on my snowmobile windshield and hood but not on my bike (as of yet), it keeps scratches to a minimum and does a great job of it.

Great post.... been using pledge for years on muscle cars cause armor all dried out & cracked stuff we found out. Once I sold cars & went to bikes, found out works just as great there too.... gotta have the lemon smell...
