OK all you Softail owners... I am looking to buy my first Harley. I was looking at a Sportster 1200 xlc... but since my wife may want to ride from time to time everyone is telling my to go bigger. Any of you doubled up on your softails for any long rides? If so, how bad was it? What accessories are a must?:newsmile058:

I've had both softail and touring as well as dynas and I would put the RK at the top of the list as far as comfort for two up followed by the dyna and then the softail last as far as comfort and ride.

My wife and I routinely ride 300+ on our Heritage.

It's like everything else. Stop and stretch your legs and it's all good. Granted a RK or Ultra would be more comfortable, we enjoy the long rides on the Heritage as well.

I'm with Hobbit on replacing the pegs with footboards. Before we replaced them on my husbands bike I melted the rubber soles of my boots on the pipes. Not happy! A good backrest for her too.
