Can anyone help identify what is going on? I have a 2003 FxSTSi with the following symptoms:
When riding (at various speeds), the engine shuts off/just stops, all lights go off, the indicator lights all go off except the high beam light which then comes on. The high beam switch is not engaged. Luckily, this has not happened in traffic.
When starting/re-starting, sometimes all lights and indicators are normal and the bike starts fine. Then I have the above mentioned situation happen once on the road. Other times, I get flashing hazard lights for a moment as I am charging up the ignition (3-5 seconds) waiting for the oil light to go off. Some times i get nothing at all except just the high beam light, no click when I press start, nor any other indication of power.
I have checked for shorts in the wiring, the fuses are all fine.
Any theories?
