Battery Change question

I just plugged in my battery tender before I disconnected my battery. Not sure if I was supposed to do this, but on newer cars (if you don't maintain some kind of power - even a 9v battery) - the vehicle has to go through and idle and driveability relearn process, so I was just trying to avoid that - I hadn't thought about the security fob issue.

These are called memory savers, they work good on most cars, a word of caution for Toyota owners DO NOT use the 9 volt battery plug in ones in a cigar lighter this can set air bag faults. I hook up a 12 volt battery at the Alternator hot lead and ground on the engine this works on most all cars and trucks, on a Harley I don't know if this will work or not I have not tried it yet
