Back from Sturgis

We left Ft. Lauderdale, FL on August 1st, got to Sturgis on the 7th. Right now we're homeward bound taking a day off (17th) in Mt. Vernon IL while Dale's HD performs the 15K service on our Ultra. Been a wonderful 4000 miles so far, 1200 (more or less) to go!

This was my second trip first in 08 when my cousin and I rode round trip from Seattle, WA including riding in Black Hills we put on 3200 miles and got our patch. This year we trailered with my 2 up Kendon and a big comfortable Suburban. Glad I rode the first year but sure is nice to have the comforts of a cushy and most important air conditioned car.
Had a fabulous time with 18 people joining us from Seattle. The only downside side was our room in Deadwood, 99.00 every day, rally week 249.00!
In the end.......WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Just got back from Sturgis on Sunday. 4,440 miles. Also rode there last year but not sure if I'm up for another ride. That 112 degree heat on the way out and the 109 degree heat on the way back were killers. Really going to have to find another route that doesn't include the deserts of southern Nevada and Arizona.

we left ohi July 30th and made it to sturgis/Deadwood area on August 1st was there when deadwood had 1 1/2 foot of hail tuesday august the 2nd was a wild sight to see them plow the hail from the road and it was still there weds morning when we took off to yellowstone went to sheridan the first night back on the roade and then to cody the second night made it to yellowstone

You might want to "Try the Way I Go",,, You can head from California, straight up to Washington state. Heading for Clarkston-Lewiston into Idaho,,,, Up Lolo and over a Pass, BEAUTIFUL canyon (cooler temps.)all the way into Montana... heading thru Missoula and Helena and UP Above inner-state 90 is the OLD highway that takes you straight into South Dakota(20? 212?) goes into Bell F.. So. Dakota,,, ending up Right above Sturgis........ I find the old Mom and Pops motels on That Above highway at around 40$ and Less a night OR you'll find plenty of open camping along that way.. I Hate the Major Highways:lero and that Route will by-passes them..

signed....BUBBIE

Look at Your map and see that Route... NICE!

and a few more
