back firing

I have a 2001 1200 sportster, When the engine gets to normal running temp the littlest of throttle and the engine starts to back fire and the engine stalls out. I have changed the plugs, wires, coil and new battery, any other ideas?

How about the fuel, could there be water or debris in it?

I would also check the intake for leaks, sounds like a good possibility.

A buddy of mine had a similar problem with his 05 1200c and he took the heads apart to find he had an intake leak that caused a carbon build up.

My fxrs had that problem turned out to be an ignition module problem. But I didn't get it fixed until the thing just up and quit the one day.

I had the same problem and it was my regulator. Had to get a new one. Thank God it wasn't the stater plug.
