at a loss...help

I have a early pan/shovel custom. It will run good till it gets up to operating temp then it bangs out and hits on 1 cylinder. What could be causing this. The coil, wiring and carb has been replaced. Its got a pan lower end and a 70's shovel topend witch is all s&s except for the cases.

OK a little more info...what does "bangs out" mean? backfires?? When it "bangs out" does it smoke or just shuts down the one cylinder and always fires on the same cylinder, after? and which one front / rear? what carb are you running? Once it cools down it ok again?

Sounds like your coil is breaking down, what ignition system are you running?
