has anyone installed a ev3 cam on their evo? a friend has a ev3 in an unopened box wrapped in its wax paper, and i would like to know if its worth putting in my 97 road king. now running a S&S 600 cam for the last 4/5 years and just want a change in the ride.

I have a 97 FLHTCU, carbureted .
Had a Screaming Eagle SE1 installed by dealership. When I was researching what cam to choose, I considered the Andrews EV3, and now believe it would have been the better choice.
If my memory serves, it was expected to perform better at low to mid rpm than the SE, which was supposed to be better at top end.
I’m not sure, but on a heavy bike, riding double, you’d probably be better off with the Andrews. Of course, the pipes, the carb (or fuel injection map), air intake all can affect the performance characteristics, too.
Short answer from me: don’t mess with it if you’re happy enough as it is. You’d prolly be opening a can of worms.
