Need to fix my mistake on the oil pan. Going with Timesert, just need to know what kit number to purchase for the 1999 Road King Classic

Much appreciated.....

Are you restoring the thread on one of the bolts holding the pan on or is it the drain plug?

Looking at others postings,,,,Timeserts are Very eXpensive... 100$ on eBay

You might want to go using the self-threading/re-tapping one... and see how that works for you.

Other suggestions require drill and tap and a new plug.
(can be had with a magnet in it also.) I've seen them before Google/Bing them.

Unless you have a good tapping tool, Aluminum is Not easy to thread properly,,,, cutting threads in it IF not done correctly will only allow stripping out easily in the future.

Jack,

Thanks for the info, since my drain plug threads have been stripped; is the correct part number in your post below for my application. If so, will be ordering one today.

I want to say it is 1/2by20 self tapping
