2011 Electra Glide engine heat

I believe it's your Cat. My 2010 FLHTK did the same thing. Wow it was hot, my wife complained about her foot and leg burning. I changed out the header (removed the cat), added slip on's and did a satge 1. It was a huge difference. The heat is gone, even with the lowers attached.

I did the complete stage 1 on my EG and it helped with the heat, also installed a set of fairing vents to go along with the thigh heat guards and they to me was the biggest help. From all the people I talked too and all the suff I have read about, the best thing to do is get rid of the cat and go with the true duel exhaust.
What does eveyone else think of this, as adding the true duel and oil cooler are my next steps.

am now thinking of doing stage one, does anyone have any recommendations for slip on mufflers?

I have heard that wrapping the exhaust with hear wrap also helps. Couple guts at work swear by it but I have not try ed it myself.

I use Reinharts and Fullsac headers (no cats) in them. Helps with the heat issue.
