2010 Dyna won't start

Hi Folks,

This will be a bit long but here goes....

Washed my 2010 FXDC as usual. Let it set for a while, started it up, rode it into the garage, the next time I went to start it, nothing. Here are the facts...

-Bike does not turn over.
-"Red Key" lights up and will not go out.
-Fuel pump does not engage (as a matter of fact no noise at all)
-Run Switch is in "run" position. (Tested switch, it's good)
-Diagnostics on spedo - ECM no Rsp, TSSM none, Speedo none, Tach no Rsp (no tach), P no rsp.
-Neutral light is on and red key, that's it.
-Directionals don't work. All otherlights do.
-Strarter and System relay have been replaced. (I carry both, because each has left me stranded before.
-Battery reads 12.5v
-Checked all fuses, good.
-No security system on bike so no "fob" issue.
-V&H Fuel Pack installed, took out and reconnected the ECM, still no repsonse.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm at my wits end and havent ridden in weeks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
 
Welcome to The Forum. Start at the battery, check and clean connections, check voltage, check with voltmeter for voltage @ the main terminal @ starter, check , clean and tighten this connection also. Your battery if close to full charge should be above 12.5 volts full charge @ 12.7 volts

You say TSSM=none but you also say you have no security. TSSM means you have security. Did you mean TSM=none?
No hands free FOB on your bike?

When you say you checked fuses, was that with a volt meter at the "tap" holes in the fuses? With an ohm meter? or Visual check only?

Leave the Fuel Pack disconnected until the problem is resolved. Do not reconnect it until the bike is once again running.
 
I did a visual on the fuses. TSM = none. I'll go through them with the volt meter. Battery may be 12.7, I'll re-check. I went through it for a couple of days and gave up. I'll start with these few things again and let you know.

Look close at the fuses and you will see a tap hole on each side of the blue plastic. Reading voltage on each side (key on) is the best way to check them in most cases.
 
I am humbled.

I learned a lesson today. I will never trust my eyes on the fuses again. Yep, went to town with the meter and found the culprit.

Which fuse was bad and do you know what cause it to blow? Was it from washing your cycle or what?

Every Tool Box should have a HOOPLE in it..

It was the ignition fuse. (#15 in the M.O.M.) All I can say is, I usually cover my fuel pack in a baggie or something when I wash the bike as I always remove the seat. This time I didn't. I'm hoping that's all it was.
