2008 heat problems?

My son wants to buy a 2008 Softail, there are a lot of them for sale here in Texas. I vaguely remember something about a heat problem in the 2008 that the HD factory finally admitted and maybe even recalled some engines; is there any fact there or just my old brain getting fuzzy?

Thats a tough one for all 2008 are hot. If concern about recall take VIN to dealer and have them run to see if any recalls are open for that VIN,

Thanks Jack, that is a good thing if we have the VIN in hand. A lot of sellers don't post the VIN but we could ask of those which we like the low milage and price. I was just hoping for a lazy/easy answer; like stay away form 08's or plan on adding a Race tuner.

I appreciate the advice and we will use it for any bike we get ready to buy.
