2007 fender rack mount

I bought a fender rack for my fxstc ,the thing looks stong enough to support a ton of weight but it's limited to 10 lbs because of thelower support !! It's supported by that stupid , cheap piece of crap PLASTIC tail light mount.Is there a mount out there made of metal that is compatible with pn 53979-07 or do I have to make my own?????
