Glad you figured it out. The splines on the rotor getting stripped out is usually from the compensator nut being to loose and allowing it to wobble around. How about some pics of the '66 and the '03. We like pics.

That's exactly what happened to me 3 years ago. The comp nut wouldn't hold it's torque value and tore up the rotor. 1500.00 dollars later (covered by extended warranty) everything was replaced except the clutch basket. While they were in there I added the auto chain adjusters and all is well so far.:s
