2002 Heritage with 55,000 miles having fuel issues flowing at low RPM's

the 2002 heritage with a carb runs out of fuel at low rpms. thinking it was a plug Pidcock screen. but turns out to be a vacuum valve on the Pidcock is not working right. so, any thoughts on using the bypass vacuum Pidcock elimination kit? seems like it solves the problem. is this a common problem with vacuum valve? anybody have thoughts on this ???

I didn't know Pingle made a vac. op. petcock. I know Pingle is very proud ($$) of their products, but they do have a rebuild service that is quite reasonable. I'm just guessing the vac. part is covered. It was $17 last time I used them. Go to their webpage and look for it. It may be in small letters and hard to find. I used it 2x and turnaround is about a week.

on my 1995 flhtcui it goes though starter relay switch OEM 31504-91A. what would be causing this? the starter works great I have a manual push button on the starter, so I can start the bike. no problem and the battery is new. the 5 prong starter relay switch will work for a while then stop. I'll put a new one in and it will work then quit. is this typical of these bikes? does anyone have had this problem? any ideas?

Are you asking two separate questions on two different bikes on the same thread you started? Kinda confusing. I'll answer the first one, get rid of the vacuum operated peacock and put a Pingel on.

sorry didn't mean to be confusing....the petcock issue with the 2002 flstc was on the fuel screen. it was letting contaminants in and plugging my fuel line. sealed the tank and repaired the screen. could not find the right oem fuel screen, 3.5" long. just is not available, so I just repaired it. no more problems with fuel issues...

on the starter relay on my 1995 flhtcui. turned out to be a weak battery. the relay was working perfectly...replaced the battery starts up every time.

Well I'm glad you fixed the problems with both your bikes. Try to simplify your diagnosis and repairs next time. And please keep one bike's issues on it's own thread. It is too confusing to post issues on two different bike's on one thread.
For the fuel issue you don't always need to replace parts with HD OE. There are lots of good aftermarket parts available.
Lastly, when dealing with any electrical issues it always wise to eliminate the battery as the problem first.

Sorry, I am 70 years old and I didn't mean to cause any issues by talking about two bikes....I can't find anybody who in the after market have the right pidcock and the right fuel screen height that is 3.25" with the stock size. they are all 4.25" in height. which throws off the fuel level when to hit reserve. so like I said I just repaired it. no one just supplies the replacement shorter fuel screen either for 2002 flstc.

the 1995 flhtcui the battery was showing full charge 13.4 volts and would turn over the motor with the bypass button on the starter. but if you used the starter button on handle bars it would not start. the only thing I could guess was that the electrical load on the ignition was just enough to not power the starter relay fully with the extra electrical load. which lead me to think the battery had a weak cell. it was driving me crazy until I dropped a new battery in.

I did a quick search for that filter and came up with a few that sold the short filter. This is one on Ebay. But also, you could replace the entire peacock assy for pretty low cost. As mentioned the best is the Pingle brand. Then just plug the vacuum line.
