13 Ultra Limited engine noise

Bike has 8600 miles and when accelerating normally, there is a buzzing, rattling noise that starts exactly at 3000 RPM. It sounds like it could be something in the fairing buzzing from vibration. No noise is heard unless the bike is being ridden. Nothing by just revving the engine. I took it to the dealer and both the service manager and a tech heard it and feel like it is in the engine. Bike is still under warranty until May 15. They will watch it and recheck at the 10,000 mile service. Any ideas???

Harley fairing brackets are notorious for breaking (and easy to fix). Outer fairing has to be removed for inspection (7 easy to reach screws).

Check and lubricate the rubber isolators that suspend the rear end of the slip-on exhaust cans. When these are dry, they produce a noise that is fairly hard to find when not riding.

Cheers,

TQ

The noise is definitely in the front of the bike. Fairing mounts sounds possible. I'll check the. Noise isn't metallic enough to be a heat shield.
