I changed the oil in my 2002 FLHTCUI Electra Glide today and found metal in the oil. The bottom of the drain pan looked like metallic paint was sprayed in it when I emptied it.
The bike is in great shape other than the engine problem it obviously has. The previous owner installed a SE 6 speed trans. The motor is an 88” I built to a 95” with hydraulic cam chain tensioners and 37N cams. I used 2006 stock heads, 4” Rinehart true duals exhaust, an SE air cleaner and TTS tuner.
If I decide to rebuild the bottom end I’m going to bump it up to a 103”. I still have the stock 88 heads so I could have either them or the 06 heads ported to support the build. Does anyone out there have a recommended 103” build that maximizes the use of the hardware I already have?
