09 hd oil cooler

need a little info on installing hd's oil cooler on my new rg. how does the gasket go on? the 2 slots in the gasket do not fit over the 2 nubs on the adaptor. is my gasket bad or am i just missing something? help please.

the nubs should go in the big hole in the gasket . not the 2 slots
