08 Softail Won't Idle, Dies Out, Difficulty Restarting

When I had these symptoms on my '03 UC, it was the IAC. I tried cleaning it multiple times, but it either did not work, or would resume the problems after a short period. Finally just replaced the IAC, and voila!! No more problems.

As TQ stated, cleaning it isn't always good enough. Also check the electric plug to it carefully.

Just fishing here but wouldn't hurt to check what voltage the charging sys is putting out. Just hook up volt meter to the battery, twist throttle to 3000-3500 RPM and you should have 14.3-14.7vdc & check it when it's acting up. Also make sure all battery connections are clean & tight.
