07 road king transmission

Sometimes when I try and get into scond gear it pops back into neutral...any ideas why ?

Clutch adjustment possibly and maybe you need a better lube in the primary like Spectro platinum.

If new to Harley, you need to shift with a solid and firm movement of the shifter lever. And the advice Glider has given will make it shift very smoothly.

I use to get a "kick back" on the 1=>2 shift only. Figured I would give the Spectro Platinum 6 Speed a try like Glider said. The 1-2 kick back just disappeared plus neutral is much easier to find. Amazing to me that a fix could come out of a bottle because I was using good oil and the clutch was perfectly adjusted.

No, it's a replacement with a gear oil instead of something else that you are running now.

No. Drain and refill.
I never thought I would ever pay $20 a quart for oil, but it is worth it.

+1 on the better gear lube making a world of difference. I use Redline, but would not hesitate to use the Spectro. It made the tranny quieter, smoother, easier to find neutral.
The H/D formula+ is good, but so is 87 octane. Why settle for just "good" when there is better out there?
