06 FLHRSI oil Question

Not a mechanic. I have about 600 miles since last oil change and oil smells like gas a little bit. That don't seem cool to me. Is It ?

I would change the oil and see if it happens again. Then try to locate why the gas is getting into the oil. Is it a rich mixture or other problem.

I agree. It is hard to tell with just a smell. Just can't think of too many ways a large quantity of fuel could get in the crankcase without having some other symptoms. If I thought gas was really getting into my oil, I would drain it so you can really get a better look at it.

600 miles is certainly a pretty short interval to have oil that is already smelling like gas. As previously stated are there any other symptoms of rich mixture, poor fuel mileage, sooted fluffy deposits in the internal exposed area of the pipes and such?

Like Hoople and Glider I would change the oil and look for a gas leak. has this bike been sitting for a long time with old oil in it?
