I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I just bought a 2004 Sportster that had been sitting for 2 years. It was running great when I picked it up. I parked it for 2 days and when I tried to start it today it was spitting gas and oil out of the carb breather and there were large amounts of smoke coming out of the pipes. Once I finally got it started there was no response on the throttle control. It would bog down and not rev up. It had a new carb put on it before I picked it up. Not sure what the problem is. I'm hoping you guys can help me. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the float may be sticking. You may have picked up some trash from the tank after sitting 2 yrs. What type carb. was put on it? Did a shop do the install? You may want to take it back to them.

Welcome to The Forum, can you post what type of carb it is for better answers?
