So what do the hoses plug onto in the backing plate?

Cheers,

TQ
On mine I used the banjo breather bolts that came stock, I drilled them a little bit bigger for more flow.
If you look at the post from dolt (post #14) his shows to use 2 brass fittings but I chose to use what I had.

If that was you TQ who cleaned up my pix thank's, told you i'm not good with a camera and a down load.

Your right. That will be easy. I will definetly do this.what size I D hose is that? Looks like 3/8 ot 1/4.

I don't recall I did it awhile ago. If you use the stock banjo bolts take one with you to the parts store and get the size that fits snugly over the head of the bolt. If you go the way described in post #14 get the size that fits snugly onto the fitting.

Either way you'll accomplish what you set out to do.

I too am a old evo rider,I still have one. In 2014 when I bought my 012 road king the salesman said to me, welcome to the 21st century.

Yeah. I couldn't count how many times I would be at a dealership wanting something for my Evo. The parts guy and / or service guys would have that deer in the headlights look on their face. LOL

Well here's a short update for what it's worth. Haven't really had time to do anything and won't until this weekend. But yesterday I rode it about 40 miles and it ran fine. No skip / jump / buck or whatever you want to all it. Same gas, same everything. Then this morning I rode it to work. Only about 6 1/2 miles but it coughed, spit back through the intake, jumped, puked and bucked all the way to work BUT ONLY when running at 1700 - 2000 RPM's. No matter what speed (mph speed), no matter which gear. Anything above or below 1700 - 2000 RPM's and she ran fine. ?????

Could be fuel or it could be a electrical issue. Try the wiggle test on the injector wires, they have been known to break or crack leaving you with a bad connection.

Recheck for codes, the procedure for your model and year should be in the self help section.

Here's the procedure for bench testing your coil.

If you want to "bench" test a coil, remove wires, attach a hot 12 volt to the battery (batt, +, etc.) terminal. Then attach a wire to the ignition (ign) terminal and touch ground and remove. Should throw a spark from the high tension lead with each application of 12v and removal. The ground wire basically imitates the function of the ignition points/module. If the high tension lead terminal is gapped a reasonable amount from the engine, there should be a bright white spark. Weak or orange spark indicates (low voltage...or) bad coil output.

Here's how to run the diagnostic code test and what the codes mean for your scoot.

    That was for the 00-03 bikes, this is for the 04 to present ones with the serial bus setup

    The IM (instrument module) is capable of displaying DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes).
    Speedometer Self Diagnostics: The speedometer is capable of displaying and clearing speedometer, tachometer, TSM/TSSM and ICM/ECM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).

    1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.

    2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.

    3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word “diag” should then appear.

    4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.

    5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
    P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
    S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
    SP = speedometer
    T = tachometer

    6 - To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC’s the code will be displayed or the word “none” will appear if there are no DTC’s. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.

    7 - Record the codes.

    8 - If DTC’s are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
    NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC’s again by repeating steps 1 to 9. If the code is current it will reappear.

    9 – Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.

    10 – Turn Ignition switch to OFF.
