xlx clutch problem

i've got an 85 xlx 61 that's acting up. if the bike is in gear, and not running, clutch lever pulled, it won't move. if i start the bike, this problem goes away instantly. i have adjusted the clutch and cannot make the problem go away. anyone have any ideas as to where i should start to investigate what is going on?? i have been told that it may be the ramp and ball that's wearing. any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about sporters,but since new my EGC has been almost impossible to move while in gear ,clutch depressed,engine not running.

Possible a clutch adjustment may help a bit but it is the frictional loss of the oil between the plates causing it.(drag)

Welcome to the forum.I wouldn't worry to much about it.You would have a real problem if it wouldn't move while in nuetral.I don't know if my Heritage will move in gear or not.When not running it is always in nuetral.
