Got home from work and started working on my (new to me) 2000 XL 883. The previous owner was the type that hung accessories all over the bike. That's OK, but I wanted a cleaner look, so off came the bags, crash bar, forward foot pegs, windshield and "Harley Davidson" license plate frame.
In total, this stuff must weight 100 POUNDS!
I removed the reflectors on the fork and rear fender, and changed the oil. Found a nice little independent bike shop to buy parts.
Tomorrow will start with a wash and "Mother's" metal polish on the aluminum parts.
Here"s the bike the day I got it home. Will post another pic when finished. Might put the windshield back on.
