07 XL 883 won't start sometimes unless I put it in gear and roll it foward
alittle. Does anyone have a clue as to whats going on?
 
Starter button completely dead. But roll the bike forward alittle in gear it
will start right up.Also battery is very strong.

Do you have a manual? you may try dis assembly of the switch and clean the connections, I would dis connect the battery and be careful with the switch halves
 
Was there ever a time when the neutral light did not work correctly.. Meaning did the light ever fail to come ON when the bike was actually in neutral..or..the light came ON when the bike was actually in a gear.

When the Start Button goes dead, can you pull in and hold the clutch lever and the starter will now engage with the ring gear?
 
Are you pulling in the clutch when you try to start it. Sounds like it's not really finding neutral.
