Twin Cam Synthetic Oil

the reason I ask this question is because I have used V-Twin product in my 95 Evo which is the mineral base oil. and seems to do very well. but I have always used HD synthetic 20/50w in the 88b. I was thinking about moving to the V-twin synthetic. And I would have never thought about Mobil one. is it a better synthetic oil then the rest of them that are out there? Thanks Jake.

All I use is Mobil 1 20/50 V Twin, never had any issues. Oil is like a religion, many choices out there and everyone has an opinion. It's your ride you decide.

Nothing wrong with the HD 20/50 synthetic; just a little pricey. Can't go wrong with Mobil1 V-Twin 20/50 synthetic or Redline; I run Redline 20W60 in my 98" motor. Advanced Auto used to run a special in the spring for a 5 quarts and a "premium" filter. IIRC, limit was one to a customer but you could have a buddy by one and be stocked up for a while. There was a Lexus filter that was an equal replacement for the HD filter; there may be others but I have run the Lexus filter with no issues. Auto Zone and O'Reilly also ran similar specials IIRC.

Thanks for the information everyone, this is very helpful in which oils to use and save money at the same time. I remember time with my 79 shovel I would use shell 60w for airplanes. Lexus filter? what year?

This was years ago, so I may be confused about the filter fitment application. There is a Mobil 1 filter for the HD; M1MC-131 and M1MC 132; one is black and the other is chrome. The first time I purchased the promo, the counter guy said the promo was only for Mobil 1 for autos and did not apply to Mobil 1 V-Twin. Needless to say, a heated conversation ensued and the manager on duty had to intervene and agreed that the promo did not exclude Mobil 1 V Twin and, therefore, applied to all Mobil 1 products.

Thanks for the heads up on the oil filters, I am going to try the Mobil 1 V Twin for sure in my 02 Heritage. better get the supplies before the prices start going up....
