troubles with 2000 flhtci

Having trouble with a 2000 flhtci hard to start and when it does start there is no fast idle and the throtle shut off fast when trying to ride it.Like to try and fix it myself and there is no Check eng. light when running and it works.

1.) Have you check all battery cables for corrosion and clean if necessary and correct tightness.
2.) Has battery been removed and bench tested.

Not quite sure exactly everything you mean?

So it does start, but starts hard correct ?

In other words it turns over ok but just takes a while to fire ?

What do you mean when you say "the throtle shut off fast when trying to ride it" ?
